`IRIS is India’s largest Science Fair from Intel, CII, and DST IRIS - Initiative for Research & Innovation in Science, is the merger of ‘Intel Science Talent Discovery Fair’ (ISTDF), the Indian chapter of the world’s largest Science Talent Discovery initiative: and Department of Science & Technology (DST) - CII’s “Steer the Big Idea.

IRIS aims to prepare children for success in the digital world. The objective of this program is to build a robust scientific temper amongst the youth. IRIS is an initiative for infusing the spirit of discovery in school children and increasing their interest in Science & Technology. It allows students a platform to display their scientific aptitude, discover unique scientific solutions to everyday problems and win public recognition and awards at a National & International level.

The national winners of IRIS represent India at the largest pre-college science fair in the world – the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) held in USA, and also the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) held in various countries every year. In the past seven years, international winners have helped focus global attention on India’s potential in the new century. 

IRIS recognizes that parents, teachers, guides and scientists are essential support and inspiration for young students and plans to organize special programs for them to help them gain a deeper understanding of IRIS and their role in shaping young scientists. IRIS is an attempt to drive scientific research capabilities amongst student participants.

IRIS has many programs for young students, allowing them to explore and enhance their path-breaking ideas. Many bright minds will compete for prestigious awards.
